Did you know that the valves on a STIHL 4-MIX trimmer or blower need to be adjusted at least once every two years? Keeping the valve clearance within the recommended range will ensure that your engine operates at maximum power and fuel efficiency, and also ensure that it starts as easy as it should.
While it is possible to do this yourself, we do not recommend it. We strongly advise that you bring your trimmer or blower to Timberland Supply where our trained technicians can quickly and easily adjust the valves for you for a very reasonable charge.
However, for those DIY-types out there, the video below will walk you through how to adjust your valves. You’ll need several specialized tools for the procedure, as the video explains. The process in the video is not exactly the same as we do it here at Timberland Supply, but will still get the job done.
Note that the video is about 15 minutes long. You would likely spend less time inside our shop dropping off and picking up your STIHL 4-MIX trimmer or blower than you would watching the video–not to mention trying to complete the procedure yourself. But, it’s your time, and so if you choose to spend it that way, that’s up to you.
